What is an EICR?

How do I get an EICR?
- Find a qualified electrical contractor who is registered with a professional body such as the NICEIC.
- Contact the electrician or contractor and explain that you require an EICR for your property.
- Provide the electrician or contractor with the necessary details about your property, such as the type of property, the number of rooms and the age of the electrical installation.
- Arrange a date and time for the electrician or contractor to carry out the inspection.
- On the day of the inspection, make sure that the electrician or contractor has access to all areas of the property that require inspection.
- Once the inspection is complete, the electrician or contractor will provide you with a written report that details the condition of the electrical installation and any necessary remedial works.
- If any remedial works are required, arrange for them to be carried out by the electrician or contractor, and obtain a completion certificate once the works have been completed.
