Yesterday was World Mental Health Day and with more than half of electricians reporting mental health concerns, it’s crucial for employers to help fight the stigma and provide support for employees.
With electricians exposed to various stresses, here are some recommendations to stay calm when out on the tools.
🌞 𝗕𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸
Have you been skipping lunch regularly to get the job done? Try not to make this a regular habit as breaks are essential for your health. If it it’s viable to go for a quick walk on your break, even better as it will bring out the endorphins in your body.
🌞 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱
Whether it’s sharing the driving or delegating project tasks, sharing the load and working collaboratively allows you to work efficiently and reduce your workload.
🌞 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿
If you’re open to it, try talking about it with your colleague as sharing can often provide relief. Even in a workplace setting, electricians can support each other.
It was okay to talk about your mental health yesterday, and it remains okay to talk about it today, and every other day of the year.
